The world hasn’t forgotten Note 7 explosions. Consumers the world over are still apprehensive about buying Samsung phones. Even though Samsung re-emphasized that Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are completely safe to use, the tarnished image of Samsung will last for a while. But Samsung is keen on making its next impression with a bang. Samsung wants to see the “wow” expression on users when it unveils Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus early this year. And a “wow” expression doesn’t pop out of nowhere – Samsung is making drastic changes to the looks and feel of its next flagship device. Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus To Ditch Hardware Navigation Keys

Reliable sources have now more or less confirmed that Samsung will do away with hardware navigation keys on its next flagship device. Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will instead feature all soft keys on the screen, with “3D touch-like functionality”. The new report supports earlier rumors about Samsung doing away with the physical home button and fingerprint sensor. The front screen of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus is likely to feature an embedded optical fingerprint scanner. You may recall that rumors have already hinted that iPhone 8 will have this feature.

Bezel-less Curved Super AMOLED Display

Samsung has taken the decision to do away with hardware navigation buttons to make way for an all-screen front, bezel-less curved edge display. As more and more manufacturers are shifting focus on the next generation of the bezel-less display, it won’t be surprising if Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus come with a neat super AMOLED bezel-less display.  Rumors also hint at Android 7.1.1 Nougat on Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. In addition to Note’s S Pen functionality with a separate S Pen accessory, both the flagship phones are expected to come with 3D Touch-like functionality embedded into the OS.

Samsung has neither confirmed nor denied news about Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus bezel-less display. So it’s wise to treat these rumors with a pinch of salt. Meanwhile, take a look at the impressive Samsung Galaxy S8 concept trailer –
