Cardcaptor Sakura fans will be delighted to know that the series is set to make a great comeback. Sakura and the others are said to return in a brand new anime series titled as Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc. In the January issue of Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine, CLAMP confirmed that fans will indeed see the return of Sakura in Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc.
Along with this, Moria Asaka will also return to work as the director of the upcoming anime series. For those who don’t know, Moria Asaka was the director of the original Cardcaptor Sakura anime series, which was aired in 1998. So fans won’t get disappointed by his work.
Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc Cast
As for the cast, Sakura Tange is returning to voice the main character, Sakura Kinomoto. Aya Hisakawa, on the other hand, is going to voice Sakura’s magical flying companion, Keroberos. Aside from them, majority of the original cast is going to return for Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc.
Characters such as Tomoyo, Li Syaoran and Yukito are going to be voiced by their original voice actors. Junko Iwao is going to lend her voice to Tomoyo Daidōji, Motoko Kumai is going to be the voice actor of Syaoran Li, Megumi Ogata is going to voice Yukito Tsukishiro amd Tomokazu Seki is going to return as the voice actor of Tōya Kinomoto. So fans definitely have something to look forward to in the coming years.
Cardcaptor Sakura History
The Cardcaptor Sakura manga series started in May 1996 and ended in June 2000. The series was a big hit as it sold more than 12 million copies. As it was released in 1996, this year marks the 20th anniversary of the original Cardcaptor Sakura manga series. The story of the series revolves around the life of Sakura Kinomoto, a student who later realizes that she possess magical powers. The manga was later inspired to be adapted into an anime series by Madhouse, which aired from April 1998 till March 2000.
Cardcaptor Sakura English Versions
An English version of the manga series was later released in the United States. Tokyopop was the company responsible for releasing in the US. Nelvana, on the other hand, was responsible for releasing the English version of the anime series in the US. All 70 episodes of the series were dubbed.
