Samsung has been working intensively on getting Android 7.0 Nougat firmware on its elite lineup. After launching the Android 7.0 Nougat beta program couple of months ago for Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, the company is scheduled to release the latest Android OS to Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Note 5 and the Tab S2.
And recently, Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 was spotted running Android 7.0 Nougat update on the GFXBench website. As far as the details are concerned, the listing showed Galaxy Tab S2 (SM-T810) with a 9.7-inch display running Android 7.0. The Galaxy Tab S2 launched earlier this year with Android Marshmallow v6.0.1.
Android Nougat 7.0 Update to hit Samsung Devices Next Year
Samsung Tab S2 with 8-inch display too will get the Nougat release even if it doesn’t appear in the benchmarks. Still, no official release date has been confirmed. In fact, the flagship smartphones, Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge don’t have one too.
Now that the year-end is so close, we can safely assume that Nougat updates for Samsung devices will air in January or February next year. Let’s see if Samsung is fast enough to get the speculations right.
As far as Galaxy Tab S3, the successor is concerned, Samsung might take the wraps off the refreshed lineup next year with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Not much is known about the Tab S3, except the availability in two variants, the SM-T820 WiFi model, and the SM-T825 LTE model. The tablet should launch during the first quarter.
For those who don’t know, Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is powered by Exynos 5433 processor or Qualcomm MSM8976 Snapdragon 652 with 3 Gigs of RAM. Camera department of the tablet comprises of 8 MP rear and 2.1 MP front shooter. This is Samsung’s Flagship product in tablet lineup with two models of 8-Inch and 9.7-Inch.
