If Horizon Zero Dawn looked like that mobile game Nintendo is releasing for its “next-gen console”, the whole gaming community would be ripping Sony a new one. But because it’s a Zelda game on a Nintendo console, everyone is praising it like if it’s the best thing ever. We could understand The Legend Of Zelda Breath Of The Wild has the best graphics a Nintendo gamer has ever seen. But comparing it to Horizon Zero Dawn is an insult and it getting less attention is just unfair.

Horizon Zero Dawn should be getting more praise than The Legend Of Zelda Breath Of The Wild

A lot of you must be wondering how the two are even comparable but that’s where you’d be wrong. Horizon Zero Dawn is mostly using a bow against weird robot animals/things. The Legend Of Zelda Breath Of The Wild is using mostly melee against different monsters. Also, it looks like Horizon Zero Dawn has set paths for you to take (ex. She could only climb where the rocks were painted white, etc.). Another thing is, more than likely with Horizon you obtain weapons strictly from doing missions whereas in Breath of the Wild you are meant to explore/kill to get weapons.

Yes, they are both open world games and they look huge. But that seems to be where the similarities end. Also, saying crappy gameplay may be too much. However, we honestly don’t think Horizon Zero Dawn looks appealing. And to see so many people bashing Breath of the Wild purely over graphics was just infuriating. Especially since we are talking about console graphics.

On the other hand, they have ALOT of similarities in other areas. Yes, they are not EXACTLY the same. But they certainly share a lot of similar gameplay formulas. The HZD hero has melee attacks as well. She has an electric spear, and there could be more weapons. There is loot in the game. There is some slight difference in both games mechanics, but you still will be doing the same stuff.
