Apple released the iPhone 7 this September, but the lack of a 3.5 mm audio jack means the users have to look for alternatives in order to listen to the music without using an adapter. While Apple revealed AirPods, wireless earphones compatible with the latest iPhone at the same time, the company didn’t start selling them right away. In fact, AirPods are still unavailable; a strange move from Apple since they are made in order to work with the latest iPhone 7.

One email conversation between a customer and Tim Cook, Apple CEO, published on MacRumors, revealed the earphones might start selling in just a few weeks. The customer sent an email to Cook, asking him about AirPods release date, telling Cook that if AirPods don’t become available soon, the said customer might end up buying different wireless headphones. Cook replied to the email stating “Thanks for your note. Sorry for the delay—we are finalizing them and I anticipate we will begin to ship over the next few weeks.”

So, the wireless earphones from Apple may finally arrive; they were planned for October but were pushed back because of the troubles with the production process. Anyway, Apple stated earlier, the company will need more time in order to perfect the headphones, while not revealing a specific release date. Now, it seems Apple finally solved all the problems, and should start selling AirPods before the end of 2016. The said push-back just made users more interested in the AirPods, so maybe the delay wasn’t so bad, at least for Apple.

In other news, many rumors state the iPhone 8 will be the first iPhone device to sport a wireless charging technology. Since there are more than a few Android models supporting wireless charging, it is great Apple finally decided to implement it; it was about time for the company to make this move.

Anyway, the AirPods will sport a price of $159 and are currently unavailable on Apple’s website. If all goes according to plan, they will become available before the end of this December.
