Capcom’s Street Fighter V might not have been launched in an ideal manner but its content has seen tremendous improvement over the past few months. The addition of better net code and new fighters more than make up for it. Now that the first season of content for this game is over, every player of the game is looking ahead for what Capcom has in store for them.

Capcom will extend Street Fighter V support till 2020

Reports say that Capcom has been working to improve its esports influence and, with that, they want to deliver the best online experience for each gamer possible. As for Street Fighter V, it has been confirmed that Capcom will still be supporting it for four more incoming years. Ono revealed to Famitsu that “It’s not just a 1 to 2-year thing. We’re looking pretty far ahead. We’ve planned out as far as 2020 or so.”

It is also stated by producer Tomoaki Ayano that the game is one they are adding on as it goes along. This only means that they will be working on it while planning ahead on the best way to further develop it. When asked if there are other fighting games that Capcom would release sooner or later, a straight answer was not given. Ono only said that there is still a lot of work to be done and that all eyes are focused on the current game to solidify it and make it an esport household name.

He also reveals that they have seen a higher number of tournament entrants than they had in Street Fighter 4. But they have plans to heighten that further. More people participating only means that they can host bigger tournaments. And more people are going to watch them. This is directly proportional to the sales and could decide the future of the game.
