Week 47 saw several announcements and timelines regarding Android Nougat update for various devices. Everybody is eagerly waiting for Android Nougat update. The new OS has become very popular for the features it offers – multi-window support, instant apps, number blocking, the doze mode for better battery life, screen zoom, improved file browser, bundled interactive notifications and a host of other features. LG V20 was the first phone to come with Android Nougat by default. Devices running Marshmallow are slowly receiving Nougat update.
A statement from Motorola reads “Last month, we told you Android 7.0 Nougat would be making its way to several of our smartphones before the end of the year, including Moto Z. Well, we have some good news…the wait is over! We’ll begin rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat globally to Moto Z and Moto Z Force this week.” So Moto Z and Moto Z Force users don’t have to wait any longer. Motorola recently confirmed in a blog post that the Moto Z and fourth-generation Moto G would be updated to Android 7.0 in the fourth quarter of the year, meaning the update will arrive latest by December 2016.
As for HTC devices, Popular leakster, LlabTooFeR, recently shared a couple of screenshots showing a stable Android Nougat build running on HTC 10, hinting that Android Nougat will come to the current HTC flagship model before the end of the year. If all goes according to plan, HTC One A9 and One M9 should also see the update sometime during early 2017. OnePlus 3T, the latest flagship phone from OnePlus, is expected to receive the update in December. OnePlus 3 is also expected to receive the Nougat update in December. ZTE Axon 7 users have to wait until January 2017 for the update. Nougat update is also expected soon on Honor 8 devices. Samsung is also rolling out beta versions of Nougat update for Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.
