Two new Gionee smartphones have been certified by the Chinese telecommunication authority, TENAA. The Gionee S9 and S9T have been listed on the agency’s website. Both smartphones look similar, but come with slightly different specifications. There is no information about the pricing of both smartphones.
As per the listing, the Gionee S9 is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core processor, while the S9T is backed by a 2.0GHz octa-core processor. Both smartphones come with 4GB RAM, and 64GB internal storage. Both run Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
Other than that, both Gionee S9 and Gionee S9T sport 5.5-inch display with full HD resolution. Both handsets are equipped with dual rear cameras (13MP + 5MP). There is also a 13MP front camera on-board. Both devices are backed by 3,000mAh batteries.
Among other differences, while the Gionee S9 weighs 166.5g, the Gionee S9T is a little heavier at 200.8g. Still, both smartphones measure same i.e. 154.2 × 76.4 × 7.4mm. However, while the S9 comes in Gold and Silver color options, the Gionee S9T will come in Black color option.
Gionee S9 has also been listed on the AnTuTu benchmark website. The new listing confirms the specifications seen on TENAA leak. The Gionee S9 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P10 processor.
While there’s no information about the pricing of the upcoming smartphones, both devices are expected to be launched next week, on November 15. Gionee has confirmed the launch date of Gionee S9 via a teaser image, which also confirms the dual rear camera setup. However, it is not mentioned whether the Gionee S9T will also officially launch on the same day.
