Google Pixel phones have one thing that sets them apart – the very famous Google Assistant. You can ask questions, tell it to do things and use it like your own personal assistant. Want to know the capital of Botswana? Want to know your flight status? What’s the weather like? Or translate a language? You can ask Google Assistant literally anything and it will oblige. Wanna have some fun? You can tell your Assistant to play jazz on the living room speakers. You can even set your “go to gym” alarm, make a reservation, send a message or ask it turn your kitchen lights off.
Who would want to miss having an Assistant that gets so much done in so little time? Unfortunately, Google made this AI available only to Pixel phones. But that doesn’t mean you can’t use Google Assistant on other devices. Using few hacks and tricks, you can still use Google Assistant on your favorite Samsung, Moto, Nexus, OnePlus and other Nougat 7.0 devices. If you are satisfied with the digital assistant in Allo, well and good. But if you want to experience the full-fledged power of Google Assistant on your non-Pixel phone, then few tricks will get the job done!
How To Download Google Assistant on Nexus, Samsung, OnePlus and Motorola
Basically, you can use Google Assistant on devices that run Android 7.0 Nougat – including Samsung, Nexus, Moto, LG, OnePlus, HTC, and others. And there are two ways to do this –
Method 1: Trick Google Servers
Using this method involves tricking Google servers. If your phone is rooted and has Google app version 6.5.35.21 or higher, Google servers will believe that the phone is Google Pixel XL.
Method 2: Download Flashable Image
Other method is to download a flashable image from XDA-Developer site. Check our post on how to download google assistant for detailed instructions.
Proceed With Caution
Installing Google Assistant on non-pixel smartphones requires technical knowledge. If something goes wrong, you may end up bricking your phone, making warranty null and void, messing with your phone’s camera and leaving your device vulnerable for malware attacks. So, we advise you to exercise caution while downloading and installing Google Assistant on your phone.
Good luck! May the force of Google Assistant be with you!
