Xiaomi has launched its much-awaited Mi Note 2 smartphone in China. The Chinese tech giant will unveiled the new smartphone at its ‘Curved to Impress’ event in Beijing. The event was also live-streamed. You can watch the launch video below this article.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 feature a seamless design with symmetrical 3D curved glass on front and back. The device is kept together by an aluminium metal frame. It features 5.7-inch flexible OLED display with 77.2% screen-to-body ratio and 110% NTSC gamut.
The Mi Note 2 is powered by an upgraded 2.35GHz 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 821 processor along with Adreno 530 GPU and 6GB LPDDR4 RAM. It also comes in a 4GB RAM variant. The new smartphone comes in 64GB and 128GB internal storage variants.
The Android smartphone sports a 22.56MP rear camera with Sony IMX 318 sensor, phase-detection auto-focus [PDAF] system and f/2.0 aperture. It features EIS [electronic image stabilization] with its own 3-axis gyroscope for 4K video stabilization.
On front, the smartphone features an 8MP auto-focus camera with Sony IMX268 Exmor RS sensor, and f/2.0 aperture. Apart from Auto Beautify 3.0, the selfie cam comes with a Group Selfie optimization, which takes multiple exposures and automatically creates the best picture.
The Mi Note 2 comes with 600Mbps 4G+ [with 3x carrier aggregation]. It supports 37 4G LTE bands. Mi is also offering a virtual SIM card with the new smartphone. It is backed by a 4070mAh battery, which supports QuickCharge 3.0 for fast charging. The Mi Note 2 supports NFC. Other features include Aqstic audio processor with 192kHz/24-bit Hi-Fi sound quality [Hi-Fi audio] and FAP GPS.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is priced at CNY 2799 [approx. Rs. 27,800] for the 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant. While the 6GB RAM/128GB Storage variant costs CNY 3299 [approx. Rs. 32,600]. A 6GB RAM/128Gb Storage variant with Global LTE support is priced at CNY 3499 [approx. Rs. 34,600]. It comes in Piano Black and Glacier Silver variants.
The India launch details and price are yet to be revealed.
Xiaomi VR Glass has also been launched at the event. The comapny also launched a concept smartphone called Xiaomi MIX, designed by Philip Stark.
