Here’s a quick recap of all that happened this week in the world of Android Nougat Update. Starting with Nexus devices and Google devices, the final Android 7.1 update is expected to be released for all supported Google devices by the end of this year. The eligible devices include Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Pixel C, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus 9 LTE, Nexus Player, Pixel C, and Android One devices.
Although Xiaomi is yet to officially confirm about Android Nougat update, reports claim that the new update is likely to reach Xiaomi handsets this year itself. The Mi 5, Mi Max and Note 4 are expected to be the first to get the latest OS. The list of eligible devices is expected to include the Redmi Pro, Redmi Note 3, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi 3, Redmi 3s, Redmi 3A, Mi Max, Mi Note, Mi Note Pro, Mi Pad 2, Mi 4s, Mi 4c and Mi 4i. When it comes to Moto devices, there’s a lot happening. The company is expected to start the roll-out process for Moto G4 Plus between the last week of October and mid-November. The Moto Z series is also in line to get the Android Nougat, after the G series. The Moto G (4th Gen), Moto G Play (4th Gen), Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen), Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto X Force, Droid Turbo 2, Droid Maxx 2, Moto Z, Moto Z Droid, Moto Z Force Droid, Moto Z Play and Moto Z Play Droid are also confirmed to get Android Nougat update.
Samsung devices have always been slow when it comes to getting Android updates. Continuing this tradition, the updates are expected to come in early 2017. Samsung has not yet announced an official list of devices that will receive the update. The Samsung Galaxy S7 and its variants [Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S7 Active, Galaxy S7 Batman edition, and Galaxy S7 Olympic edition] are expected to get the new update in the first quarter of 2017. This week also saw news about Moto E 2nd Gen getting Nougat update via Cyanogen CM14 Custom Mod. For HTC 10, One A9, and One M9, Android 7.0 Nougat update will arrive by the end of this Year. However, there’s no info about M8.
And lastly, OnePlus has confirmed that OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 2 will get Nougat update. But you may be disappointed to hear that OnePlus X and OnePlus One will not be receiving the Nougat update.
