Airtel is now offering 2GB of 4G data at Rs 153, without any upfront charges. This is yet another offer by the telecom operator as a reaction to the Reliance Jio Welcome Offer. While Reliance Jio is not a commercial success as if now, Airtel is not taking any chances. The new 2GB Airtel 4G Data at Rs 153 adds to the ever-growing list of aggressive offers by Airtel.
Despite the disruptive entry of Reliance Jio, Airtel is the current market leader. The company is now offering 2GB of 3G/4G data at just Rs 153. The USP of the latest offer is that you do not need to pay any upfront charges. You can directly pay Rs 153 to avail the 2GB 4G data. The validity of Airtel 2GB internet pack is said to be 28 days. It is only applicable to prepaid customers.
The Rs 153 Airtel 2GB 4G data offer is yet to be activated across all of Airtel’s telecom circles. As of now, it is only available in selected telecom circles. Offering data packs without any upfront charges on direct recharges is a new path for telecom operators.
Currently, most service providers, [Vodafone, Idea Cellular, MTS India, etc.] offer 1GB 4G/3G data at around Rs 150. However, these packs are not offered as promotions. Users need to spend more than Rs 250 in order to avail these promotions and use 1GB 4G/3G data. The promotional data plan by Airtel comes at Rs 153, with the doubled data limit.
Other operators charge upfront fees for offering annual 4G data and upon exhaustion of this limit. Without promotional offers, Idea Cellular and Airtel charge as the Rs 1,499 upfront fee. You can choose to recharge for small amounts per GB (such as Rs 51) to continue to consume 4G LTE data.
Reliance Jio is currently offering a similar plan along with unlimited usage at night along with a host of other goodies, such as Jio apps, free voice calling and more. However, the validity of this pack is only 21 days. You have to recharge for Rs 299 to avail the offer.
