We’re taking a look at the next installment in the Dragon Ball video game series. The classic and iconic anime and manga series gets its new video game on October 25. Featuring the latest characters from Dragon Ball Super, Xenoverse 2 is another must-play installment for fans of the franchise. We’ve compiled a list of 10 things you probably didn’t know about Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will be 60 fps on all platforms
Framerate is a big issue among gamers these days. So, they’ll be happy to know that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 runs at 60 fps on consoles. The previous game only ran at 30 fps. This promises to give players one of the smoothest gameplay experiences yet.
Grammy-nominated DJ Steve Aoki will do the game’s soundtrack
This means gamers will get to hear some classic DBZ themes remixed by the one and only Aoki. Steve Aoki will also be immortalized in the game as a playable character.
Cotton City is 7 times larger than Toki Toki City
The hub world of the game will be 7 times larger than the one in the previous game. There will be a lot less loading screens and it can host up to 300 players at the same time.
Vehicles!
Another awesome addition to Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is vehicles. This is a first for the franchise. There will be a new racing mechanic and players will be able to race against each other.
New dynamic camera
There will be a new camera system. It will follow the player much better and precisely than in the previous game. Players will have new techniques at their disposal as well.
Boss mode
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will feature a Giant Boss Mode. Players can team with 5 other players to conquer some of the biggest threats to the world.
Character import
If you’re still attached to your player character in the original Xenoverse then there’s good news for you. You will be able to transfer your data from the previous game to the new one.
Character creation
You can also make a new character for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. This time it has even more gameplay and customization options. How the player chooses to customize their character will decide what locations the player will be able to visit throughout the game.
Larger Battle maps
Maps in which players will fight are going to be much larger. There will be more room for some epic clashes. Battle stages will have more destructible environments.
Huge Roster
And last but not the least is the character roster for the game. There will be characters from all across the Dragon Ball saga. This includes movie characters and even characters from the new Dragon Ball Super anime.
