Finally, the release date of Microsoft Surface Pro 5 has been confirmed. The upcoming hybrid laptop is one of the most awaited devices of the year. The wait is over now. The Redmond-based tech giant is going to release the Surface Pro 5 at its October 26 event.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 To Be Announced On October 26

Microsoft has already sent out invitations for its October 26 event in New York City. The company is expected to announce several new devices at the event including Microsoft Surface Pro 5. The invitation also teased at an imminent update for Windows 10.

So far, there is no official information about the new two-in-one laptop. Microsoft is expected to launch one Surface device this year and three more devices next year. The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 was launched in Octobert 2015.

If rumors are to be believed, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will come in two variants – one with 4K display and a 2K display. It is likely to be powered by 7th-gen Intel [Kaby Lake] processors. According to Tech Advisor, the 2K model will be supported by 16GB of RAM. It will also come in several storage options including a whopping 2TB variant, in addition to 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and a 1TB variant. It is expected to run on Windows 10 with Redstone 2 Update.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to come with an upgraded Surface Pen with a rechargeable battery with wireless charging. Connectivity options will include USB 3.0 port in favor of a USB-C port. Some camera upgrades are also expected. It is expected to feature a 16-megapixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel front camera. The upcoming Surface Pro 5 is expected to cost upwards of $899 for the base model, while the Core i7 version will be available for the price of $999. The 4K UHD variant will likely cost $1,599.
