Huawei is all set to launch its Honor 8 smartphone in India on October 12. It sports most features of the Huawei’s flagship P9 device, except the Leica lens. Now, a Mumbai-based retailer has leaked the price of Honor 8, while hinting at the launch of another smartphone, called Honor 8 Smart.
Mahesh Telecom tweeted the price of Honor 8 as Rs. 29,999, and the price of Honor 8 Smart as Rs. 19,999. Both smartphones are available for pre-booking. As per the retailer, stocks are expected to arrive on the day of launch only. The tweet has been deleted since then.
As far as specifications are concerned, the Huawei Honor 8 sports a 5.2- inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, 2.5D curved glass display, 96% NTSC color gamut, and a pixel density of 423ppi. It is powered by a HiSilicon-designed [with 16nm process] octa-core Kirin 950 processor with Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. The new smartphone will be supported by 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via a micro SD. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with Huawei’s Emotion UI version 4.1 on top.
The flagship device comes with a fingerprint reader on the back. It features an aluminum frame and weighs 156 gm. The curved metallic sidebars have no edges for an easy grip. It comes in Sapphire Blue, Pearl White and Midnight Black color options.
The Honor 8 sports 12MP dual rear cameras with dual-tone LED flash, Laser AF, f/2.2 aperture, 6P lens, and 1.4um pixel size. There is also an 8MP front camera with f/2.4 aperture on-board. Connectivity options include a 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (dual-band), Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, NFC, an infrared port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. The Huawei Honor 8 is backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery.
There is not enough information about the Honor 8 Smart as yet. However, the cheaper variant is expected to feature a single camera set-up on the back and 2GB of RAM.
