There has been a marked difference in Reliance Jio speed between day one of its launch and today. Those who have been using unlimited data since the inception of the Jio Preview Offer are now complaining of a steady decrease in Reliance Jio speeds. As the user base widens, it’s quite natural for the speeds to drop. But if you are experiencing speeds as low as 2Mbps, you MUST do something about it! Don’t know where to start? Read on to find out 6 tried and tested methods that will boost Jio speeds up to 50 Mbps.
Method 1: Simple But Effective. Try Clearing Cache.
Clear Cache? Seriously? Yes. We are dead serious. Apps like CCleaner exist for a reason – they help speed up your device by clearing cache and other unnecessary data that gets accumulated on your device. Data stored by Jio apps can considerably bring down speeds. So the first that you must do is to clear cache. To clear cache, head to Settings -> Storage -> Internal Storage. Tap on Cached Data. Clear Cached Data. Confirm. And you are good to go!
Method 2: Fine-tune APN Settings
APN (Access Point Names) settings play an important role in network speeds. Having the right APN settings can significantly boost speeds. Head to Settings -> Cellular Networks -> Access Point Names. Then be absolutely sure to have these settings done on Jio 4G Profile
- Server: www.google.com
- Authentication Type: None
- APN type: Default
- Bearer: LTE
Save the changes. You should now ideally experience increased speeds. If this method didn’t help, try method 3.
Method 3: Use Internet Speed Booster and Optimizer App
If method 1 and method 2 fail, it’s time to give this app a try. Download and install the app called ‘Internet Speed Booster and Optimizer‘. This app works on both rooted and non-rooted phones. But you have to enable suitable profiles based on whether your phone is rooted or not. Choose the profile ‘Root user’ if your phone is rooted. Else choose ‘Non-root user‘. Once you have chosen the profile, just let the app run in the background and do its job. After a few minutes, check the speed and you will be amazed at the increase in speed this app offers!
Method 4: Change APN network further for optimum speeds
If APN settings that you modified in Method 2 didn’t help, it’s time to modify some more settings to see if these settings can help increase speed. After heading to Settings -> Mobile Networks -> APN settings and choosing the SIM slot corresponding to Jio SIM, select the menu available in the top right corner, choose new APN and save. Ensure that the new APN settings have been configured to these (you can always roll back the settings to default, if you want to)-
- APN – jionet
- APN Type – Default
- MMSC – Not Set
- MMS proxy – Not Set
- MMS port – Not Set
- Proxy – Not Set
- Port – Not Set
- MCC – 405
- MNC – 857, 863 or 874
- Username – Not Set
- Password – Not Set
- Server – www.google.com
- Authentication type – Not Set
- APN Protocol – IPv4/IPv6
These modifications should definitely increase Jio 4G speeds.
Method 5: Use VPN master
There are several apps that instantly boost speeds. One such app is the VPN master. Download this app (not available on Play Store, google and download). This app works by connecting to the nearest India servers and boosting speeds within minutes. If the chosen country i.e. India in this case, doesn’t work, try changing the country and you should immediately see increased speeds.
Method 6: 3G/4G Speed Optimizer – Works on Rooted Devices Only
There is a wonderful app that helps boost speeds. But the catch is that this app works only on rooted devices. So if your phone is rooted, this method is definitely worth a try! Download and install 3G/4G Speed Optimizer. The app is not available on Play Store so you may have to google and find the .apk file. Next follow these steps –
- Open the app. Select Network Speed
- Choose 12/28/7 – Max Speed. Click on Apply Tweak.
- Important: Restart your phone.
After you restart the phone, check the speed. You should see increased speeds now.
