The new iPad Mini 5 variant is expected to be released alongside iPad Pro 2. A new Bloomberg report claims that the new iPad Pro variant will feature a 10.5-inch screen [up from the current 9.7-inch iPad Pro]. It will be released in 2017.

Apple iPad Mini 5 Coming With New iPad Pro In 2017

The new report is confirmed by the KGI analyst, Ming Chi-Kuo, who has been a trusted source when it comes to possible Apple updates. In past, he had correctly predicted the iPhone 7 details. He claims that Apple is going to come out with new iPads in 2017. This means that the upcoming MacBook Pro 2016 launch (rumored for October 24) will not be accompanied by any iPad models.

The reports suggest that the new iPad Pro will come in two variants, with a 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch display. Both variants are said to be powered by an A10X chip processor. Other expected upgrades include an AMOLED display with smoother navigation features.

A 9.7-inch iPad model is also expected to be launched, that could likely be a Mini variant too. However, the new model might not be called iPad Mini 5. Macworld has speculated that the upcoming 2017 tablet might be named as iPad Pro Mini. The iPad Mini 4 was released with a 7.9-inch display. Other than larger display, expected new features on the iPad Mini 5 include a Retina display, A9X chip, a 3GB of RAM and 32 GB internal storage.

Apple may also roll out the new iPad software features as part of an upgrade to the iOS 10 operating system in the first half of 2017. The company began integrating features exclusive to the iPad last year. It released a mode to work in two applications simultaneously. The new iPad update will include improvements to the Apple Pencil, a handwriting and drawing stylus aimed at professionals.
