CEO of Niantic has spoken on the issue of hatching regional Pokemon, in Pokemon GO, outside their region. For those who don’t know what Regionals or Regional Pokemon are, they are ones restricted to certain countries/ continents. Furthermore, these include Mister Mime, Ganghis Khan, Far Fetched and Toros. The question was posted by Twitter user Kelly Roberts. “Can you hatch regionals out of eggs outside of their region?” was the question. Furthermore, John Hanke has confirmed that you can’t.

You can’t hatch regionals in Pokemon GO if you aren’t in the designated region anymore

So, if you’re in Netherlands, which is Europe, you will have Mister Mime. If you live in Australia you can get Ganghis Khan. In Asia, you will get Far Fetched. If you live in the States or Canada you will be able to get yourself a Toros.

“Eggs can only be found in their natural habitat” was John Hanke’s response. Recently, a lot of people claimed that they were able to hatch certain region-specific Pokemon outside the said region. Either they are lying or it must have been some kind of glitch. However, it has now been confirmed by Niantic. So, all those comments you hear from players of getting all Pokemon without travelling. Well, they are most probably lies.

Pokemon GO devs should have made a statement about this a long time ago. However, better late than never. So, if you’re in Netherlands or any other European country, it is not possible to get Toros. Better apply for a visa to North America.

Pokémon Go is a free-to-play, location-based augmented reality game developed by Niantic for iOS, Android, and Apple Watch devices. It was initially released in selected countries in July 2016.
