The Xiaomi Redmi 3S is going on a flash sale in India on September 21 – probably for one last time before paving the way for the September 27 launch of the much-awaited Xiaomi Mi 5S.
The flash sale is scheduled to begin at 12 pm today.
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, the Redmi 3S comes with a sleek, metal body that makes it appear more expensive than the device actually is. Despite all the upgrades since the Redmi 2, it is still about 0.9 mm thinner and hence, doesn’t feel bulky in your hands at all.
It is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor which, by and large, delivers a pretty decent performance compared to most devices in its league. It houses 2GB RAM, a 13MP rear camera with Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) technology, 5MP front camera, 5-in display, a sizeable 4,100 mAh battery, 16GB built-in storage, fingerprint sensor, dual sim support, as well as VoLTE support.
The hybrid sim slots can also serve the dual purpose of a microSD card slot, meaning if you are using only one sim, you can choose to use the empty sim slot to house a microSD card for an extra storage of up to 128GB.
Xiaomi Mi 5S release date
Although the invite to the media for the Sept 27 event clearly hints at the launch of a new Xiaomi device bearing the letter “S” in its moniker, the company has not officially revealed anything yet regarding the identity of the forthcoming device.
(Although it is hardly a matter of speculation anymore).
Xiaomi has also been tight-lipped about the technical specs of the Mi 5S, but word on the street is that the device will bring along a 2.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC processor, the Adreno 530 GPU, 5.15 display, 6GB of RAM, 256 GB internal storage, 16MP primary camera with dual flash, 3,490 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support, and more.
