Clash Royale Mega Minion Update – Intro to the new card
Mega Minion is a rare card found in Royal Arena. To give you an idea of what the Mega Minion does, we’ll take a look at its stats. It can survive a fireball with very little health remaining afterwards. The movement speed is medium. Just like a regular Minion, the Mega Minion has a two tile range attack.
What To Do
Basically, the Mega Minion has the health and ranged attack of three normal Minions combined. However, it has a slightly slower attack speed of 1.3 seconds. It won’t die of arrows or fireballs immediately. So, this makes it ideal for defense. It has a high base damage. So, it can kill the Princess in one shot.
With the assistance of an Arena Tower, it can take out Sparky before it reaches the Tower. Just like regular Minions, it can take care of a balloon before it reaches your tower with the added benefit that it doesn’t die of arrows.
Since it has a medium move speed, placement is key. Placing it to high will result in it trying to catch up to something like the balloon. It can deal with a Baby Dragon better than the regular Minion because it is invulnerable to Splash.
It can absorb Fire Spears. Furthermore, it can take out a mini pack before it can reach your tower. Mega Minion is decent at preventing damage done from a Minor and a Hog.
It has relatively high damage per second. So, it can take out Mini Tanks before they reach your Tower. It can stop most ground units and deals more damage than a musketeer without being targeted by ground units.
It does pretty well against the Lava Hound. Once it takes out the Lava Hound, it can take the pups by one-shotting each of them. It has a really slow move and attack speed. So, it can be stopped by arrows and zap.
What not to do
Any ranged unit can deal with the Mega Minion. It’s really slow, so the Princess can take him from a distance. Any fast ground unit can pull the Mega Minion to its death.
Mega Minion can kill the Ice Spirit in one shot. However, Ice Spirit has a greater range so it can beat the Mega Minion first.
Fire Spirits can explode on the Mega Minion before he can kill them. Keep in mind, the Mega Minion can get distracted really easily. So, a Tombstone and a Goblin Hut are really great against it.
It’s not recommended to use this unit in the offense. However, if you do manage to sneak it to the tower, it can deal massive damage. It shines on defense. You can easily turn it to a counter-attack.
