Today is a really exciting day. We got a chance to look at some of the upcoming changes in Tom Clancy’s The Division Update 1.4 and they are massive. As in expect your experience with the game to change tremendously. The most important change is going to come to the loot drop rate which has traditionally annoyed players to the point where they uninstalled the game out of frustration.
Tom Clancy’s The Division Update 1.4 makes three major fixes
Time-to-Kill
Problems: Enemies are bullet sponges making the game hard for newcomers and casual players.
Solution: Tom Clancy’s The Division Update 1.4 will fix enemy health and damage scaling to match the skill of low-level players
Difficulty
Problem: Huge jump in skill level between different difficulty modes
Solution: There will be a fundamental game change. A player will be able to select a World Map after crossing Level 30. On the map will be different Tiers. Loot drop and enemy difficulty across an entire tier (which is a huge portion of the World Map) will be constant and according to Tier level. NPCs are also capped at Level 33, so this will be the last time you see enemies above Level 33.
Loot Quantity
Problem: Not enough loot or very underpowered gear available through loot
Solution: Difficulty will now affect the amount of loot that drops. All enemies will now drop loot and not just boss enemies.
Match-making
Matchmaking will team you up with people of your Tier. So, let’s say you’re in Tier 1 and you are paired with someone from Tier 4, the Tier 4 player can invite you to their Tier. That means you can go to their Tier and enjoy high-quality loot. You can invite your high Tier level friend to your lower Tier to get help defeating enemies faster.
