It is no big secret that the current HTC flagship, HTC 10 isn’t faring as well as the Taiwanese manufacturer would have expected. If the latest report that has surfaced is to be believed then the Taiwanese smartphone maker soon may come up with its latest flagship and this time, it won’t be the One-series, but rather the Desire series. Yes, you read right, the upcoming HTC Desire 10 Pro which has just surfaced might be the next HTC flagship.
HTC always followed the tradition of launching the One devices as the flagships, while the Desire devices as its mid-range offerings. While the One-series came with top-notch hardware, a metallic body, and a hefty price tag, the Desire series came with plastic bodies and mid-range specs. However, HTC has been slowly bridging this gap and this time, it seems that this gap will be completely bridged.
If the device spotted on GFXBench is indeed the HTC Desire 10 Pro, then it sure looks like a flagship offering. The purported HTC Desire 10 Pro sports a QHD (1440 x 2560 pixels) 5.1-inch display and is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The device sports a camera configuration of 12MP/5MP and runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and might as well sport a metallic body.
It is still not known whether the leaked device is indeed the HTC Desire 10 Pro, so take the news with a pinch of salt.
