Powerful internals were always expected from Galaxy Note 7, so now, it’s just the exciting new features that we need to worry about from the upcoming phablet. One of the things that we’re not used to seeing at all from Android phones is an iris scanner, but here’s where the problem lies. This is going to be the first time that Samsung has experimented with an iris scanner on a flagship phone, and that leaves the company open to criticism, in case the security feature backfires.
However, according to a Twitter user named Roland Quandt, he’s stated that the iris scanner on the Galaxy Note 7 is said to be “200 times safer”. With our experience watching films that involve the use of iris scanners, we’d conclude that they are a sophisticated piece of technology designed to prevent unauthorized access, so we’d say that an iris scanner present inside the smartphone could provide the best possible layer of security for users. This also means that if there are certain limitations present in the security feature, there is always room for improvement, when successors of Galaxy Note 7 arrive.
Verified by another source in the know. Yes, Gorilla Glass 5. Yes, Exynos 8890. Yes, Iris scanner “200 times safer”. https://t.co/CnCl0iPHXe

From a hardware standpoint, Galaxy Note 7 is said to feature a 5.7-inch screen packing a Super AMOLED display with a resolution measuring at 2560 x 1440. Super AMOLED displays are one of the best displays in the world, so we have faith that the quality of this one is going to be stellar. There are two chipset variants arriving; one will be powered by a Snapdragon 820 (for US-based customers), while the other one will feature an Exynos 8890. Additionally, there is a rumor circulating that a 12MP dual-camera is going to be attached on the rear side of Galaxy Note 7, so we’re looking forward to that, and a 3,500mAh battery is going to provide decent battery timing to the user.
The announcement date of Galaxy Note 7 is August 19, so we’ll continue to post updates for you regarding its hardware and other features.
