While Apple is readying its upcoming MacBook Pro 2016, Microsoft is prepping up its own hybrid tablet PC. There are many rumors online about the much-awaited Microsoft Surface Pro 5. The laptop-cum-tablet is going to be the most powerful consumer tablet ever, and if rumors are to be believed, its performance may even surpass the iPad Pro and Mac Pro.

UniversityHerald reported that the Surface Pro 5 will come with Intel’s next-gen Kaby Lake processors. However, Intel hasn’t released the new chip yet, which may be causing the delay of the Surface Pro 5 release date. The new laplet might come with Windows 10 Redstone 2 update that is also going to be released early next year.

The successor to the Surface Pro 4 is rumored to feature a 2K display, but speculations say that the company may offer a 4K display option as well. Along with that, it is being said that the device may come with up to 16GB of RAM. Surely, there will be lower variants as well with 8GB of RAM. Internal storage may be set at 500GB, as 1TB seems a bit unlikely.

According to a new report by ChristianDaily, the new 14nm Kaby Lake processors will not only improve performance but will also bump up the battery life significantly. An improved Surface Pen stylus is also expected that might get attached to the tablet using a magnetic charging dock on the device itself. It may sound like a far-fetched dream, but we may see the Surface Pro 5 offering 9 hours of video playback.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 price is rumored to be starting at $899. It is being speculated that the tablet PC will be released in Q1 of 2017. iTechPost argues that Apple’s MacBook Pro 2016 will be more expensive than the Surface Pro 5. However, the performance, features, and the whole powerful package offered by the Microsoft device will expectedly leave you stunned and satisfied completely.
