Finally, the users of T-Mobile’s Galaxy Note 4 has something to cheer about. The Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update is now rolling out to the device starting Tuesday.
T-Mobile has been very late in releasing the update as the other carrier users in the country such as Sprint and Verizon have already received the update and most of them are running it, already. Coming to the update, the new Galaxy Note 4 Android Marshmallow v6.0.1 update for the device weighs around 1.5GB and brings all the sweetness of Marshmallow to the device.
Android Marshmallow was released back in October after being in developer phase for quite some time. It took nearly eight months for T-Mobile to release the update. Android 6.0 has brings some interesting features such as Google Now on Tap, better app permissions, a battery saving feature called Doze mode, improved notifications view, new system animations, and much more. That said, the update is rolling out as an over-the-air (OTA) update and it might take some time for the update to reach your device.
The update brings your device to version number of either VU2DPE3 or VU1DPE3 depending upon your location and device model. Apart from the official additions from Google, it is widely reported that T-Mobile is adding some carrier specific changes and some user interface changes as well.
The update does not either include the latest June security patch released by Google. If you didn’t receive the update notification manually, head over to updates section in Settings and check manually. Make sure you ticked the automatic updates box.
