The OnePlus 2 users have been eagerly waiting for the Android Marshmallow for some time now. While there has been some community and Beta builds, however, the official build was yet to arrive. Well, the wait is finally over as OnePlus has officially rolled out the OxygenOS 3.0.2 OTA firmware update consisting an upgrade to the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The company has started rolling out the OTA update in various regions and the update is expected to reach all the users in a day or two.

Marshmallow

Apart from the brand-new Marshmallow OS, the new firmware consists of a lot many new features like an enhanced Doze mode for better battery life, improved fingerprint detection, better camera UI and autofocus optimisation, and various other performance upgrades. Swiftkey has been updated to version 6.3.3. MaxxAudio and Tuner have been removed and replaced with an integrated Dirac HD Sound. The Shelf has been also improved.

The update weighs just 141MB and the OTA has started rolling out. Updating will, however, remove your saved fingerprints and you’ll have to save them once again. If you can’t wait for the OTA update and wish to upgrade to the OxygenOS 3.0.2, you can download the zip file available at the OnePlus forum from here and flash it on your own.

Do let us know whether you’ve received the OTA or not.
