YU Televentures is all set to launch its latest flagship YU Yunicorn today. The Micromax subsidiary had earlier postponed the release of this device last week due to clash with the election results on the same day.
YU had posted a video teaser last week showing the metal frame and the impressive design of the device. The design seems inspired from iPhone, but nevertheless, the phone looks elegant. The YU Yunicorn will be made available through Flipkart and is expected to have a very competitive price tag to lure buyers. The company is expected to sell this smartphone through online channels only.
Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma had earlier tweeted that users can now say goodbye to wallets indicating that the smartphone will have an integrated Udio wallet.
Not much is known about the specs of this device, however, a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button is on cards. Rumours suggest that the device will be powered by a MediaTek Helio X10 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM. Around Yu will also find an important place on this device with some new features. The company has also opened a way for the community to contribute to the company’s source code via ‘Project Highway’.
Commenting on the launch, Micromax co-founder, Rahul Sharma said, “It’s insanely beautiful and it will break some hearts. It will break records, it will break the conventional, it will break the rules…WAIT, it will break the flagships.”
