Supercell has pushed out a new update for the month of May, this one focused on making armies ready faster, but also includes a buff for Clash of Clans’ newest troop, the Bowler and increases the matchmaking timeout considerably to account for top-ranked players in the game.
First up, is the faster brewing and training. All Spells will now brew twice as fast. Dragon, Witch and Wall Breaker will now train twice as fast, while Golem, Lava Hound and P.E.K.K.A. will train a whopping 3 times faster. Hero regeneration times have also been reduced “hugely”, and there will be faster training for Balloon, Wizard, Healer, Valkyrie and Bowler, although not as fast as the other units mentioned above. Here’s Supercell explaining the changes in a forum post.
“We’re looking to get players battling with full and well-balanced armies much more often than before. Waiting several hours for heavy armies will be a thing of the past. Army building boosts still provide a 4x speed boost atop this – blazing fast!”
The Bowler will now attack much faster upon reaching a target, a change meant to ensure that the unit does not “lag behind the rest of the army”. Supercell admits that The Bowler landed “softer” than they would have liked, making it seem obvious that he’d be the target of some tweaking. Finally, players with high trophy counts will be pleased to know that the maximum timeout for opponents has been raised from 5 to 30 minutes, so players won’t have to keep tapping “Retry” every 5 minutes to keep searching.
