While T-Mobile had already released the LG G3 Marshmallow update last week to be available for download from LG’s desktop app, the update is now available via OTA (over-the-air) update too. The carrier has updated the information on its support page, and the OTA roll out has started three days back.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the LG G3 on T-Mobile comes with software version number D85130d. While the official change-log posted on T-Mobile’s support page does not mention anything other than some improvements in WiFi calling, the update will obviously bring new Marshmallow features.
The LG G3 Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will measure over 1GB in size as it is a major update. The new update will bring in new features including the power-saving Doze mode, new app permissions, Google Now on Tap, and more.
OTA updates take some time to reach all devices, so keep patience. If you haven’t received the notification for the update yet, you can check for it manually by going to the software update section in the Settings menu of the device. We recommend you connect the device to a speedy WiFi connection as the update is large and might take a lot of time on slower connection.
