The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 in Germany got updated to Android Marshmallow last week, and now its time for the 8.0 model. The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for the Galaxy S2 8.0 (SM-T710) (WiFi only) model has been released in the UK and can now be downloaded as an OTA update (over-the-air) from the device itself.
The new Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 Marshmallow update comes with firmware version number T710XXU2CPD9 and includes the security patch for April. The new update will bring all the Marshmallow goodies with it, including Google Now on Tap, the new app permissions, new emojis, Doze mode, updated UI, and more.
If you are using this particular device, then you must have received the notification update already. In case you haven’t got the notification, you can check for it by going to Settings » About device » Software update in your Tab S2 8.0.
Do note that this is a major update and hence will be large in size, so it will be better to download it on a very fast WiFi connection. Also make sure that the device is charged completely so that it doesn’t shut off abruptly during the update process.
