WinZip, the popular file sharing and management application, has introduced its all-new app for Windows 10, built on Microsoft’s Universal Windows Platform (UWP). The app now supports all devices running Windows 10 be it PCs, tablets or mobiles.
The new WinZip app comes with Cortana support, allowing users to simply ask the digital assistant to zip/unzip files. One can also take advantage of cloud accounts such as Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, and Microsoft’s OneDrive for sync purposes.
Bill Richards, vice-president of development at WinZip said, “WinZip started out as Windows users’ first choice for encryption and compression and now we’ve become the central hub for all your file management and sharing needs. Whether we’re supporting direct integration with OneDrive and Office 365 or building new file sharing platforms using Azure, we’re always looking for new ways to take advantage of the latest Windows technologies to help us drive WinZip product innovation and an amazing experience for our users.”
WinZip Universal can be downloaded now from the Windows Store as a free trial, after which a one-year subscription will be required.
