The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered rumour train continues to roll on today with the sudden appearance of a new image on Reddit. The image shows the clearest picture we have yet of the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare cover art and detailing its two versions: a Standard version, minus bells and whistles, and a Legacy version including Modern Warfare Remastered. It also sheds some extra light on exactly what Modern Warfare Remastered might contain. Click the image below for the high-resolution source.
The Modern Warfare Remastered box art, which features the original box art for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (and completely omits the ‘4’), also adds below that it will include only a campaign and 10 multiplayer maps from the ‘original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game’. It is not clear whether the campaign will include just the original game’s campaign, or whether it will be a compilation of the campaigns for all three Modern Warfare games. It has also not been mentioned who is responsible for the development of the remaster, so we can only assume it might have been Infinity Ward, the original developer itself.
Infinite Warfare, on the other hand, is rumoured to be set in the far-future, involving space warfare. While this rumour originally broke thanks to Shinobi602, a renowned leaker from games forum NeoGAF, it has since been corroborated by various images of the above box art, which depicts what appears to be a spacesuit, and in the background, some kind of spaceship. It remains to be seen how the game will be able to differentiate itself from the many other sci-fi shooters on the market, such as the Halo franchise or Destiny.
