Meizu has just announced the successor to its entry-level M2 smartphone. Meizu has introduced two new devices this year, and interestingly enough, both of them were announced earlier this month. The new Meizu M3 carries a lot of the traits from the existing model, including the $92 base price while offering a few minor changes.

Meizu M3 is the company’s budget offering for this year, and this device costs only 599 Yuan. The M3 comes in 2 different variants with slight changes. Unlike the Meizu Note M3, the M3 keeps hold of its polycarbonate body and its wide range of bright colours, now including blue, pink ,gold, grey ,white and black. The polycarbonate body still holds a 5-inch 720p display, but the footprint is marginally increased, most probably to accommodate one of the most significant changes – the M3 has 2.5D glass on its front.

The base version of the phone comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage, while the higher-specced one comes with 3GB/32GB configuration. There’s a microSD slot for expansion either way. This handset is fueled by MediaTek’s MT6750 64-bit octa-core processor running at 1.5GHz along with the Mali-T860 GPU for graphics. Speaking of camera specs, it has a 13 megapixel rear (f/2.2) and a 5-megapixel front snapper (f/2.0) which you will find the same as the Meizu M2. However, the phone also claims to feature 0.2 second PDAF fast autofocus feature.

Available in a number of fresh colors, the M3 can be bought for 599 Yuan ($92) for the 2GB/16GB version, while the 3GB/32GB variant costs 799 Yuan ($123). We expect the global roll-out of the device to happen in the coming days.
