It’s some good piece of news for the Linux and Debian fans as the Debian Project announced the release of its Debian GNU/Linux 8.4 ‘Jessie’ and Debian GNU/Linux 7.10 ‘Wheezy’ maintenance releases yesterday for the existing users.

According to Marius Nestor of Softpedia, the Debian GNU/Linux 8.4 ‘Jessie’ will be an update for all the users currently running Debian GNU/Linux 8.3 ‘Jessie’ or previous versions. This will be the fourth update in this GNU/Linux OS series which has been highly appreciated for its stability.

The Debian GNU/Linux 7.10 ‘Wheezy’, on the other hand, is only for the users who have been using the old stable Debian operating systems. Any user running Debian GNU/Linux 7.9 or a previous version can update to version 7.10 by running the command, “sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade“.

The official announcements of Debian GNU/Linux 8.4 and 7.10 stated, “This update mainly adds corrections for security problems to the old-stable release, along with a few adjustments for serious problems. Security advisories were already published separately and are referenced where available.”

The Live DVDs and ISOs of both the Debian GNU/Linux 8.4 ‘Jessie’ and Debian GNU/Linux 7.10 ‘Wheezy’ Operating system updates will be made available very soon as the Debian developers are still working on providing the installation media of these OS. So just wait for some time before the ISOs are made available.

We’ll keep you posted and updated as soon as the ISOs of the Debian GNU/Linux 8.4 and Debian GNU/Linux 7.10 are made available for download. You can have a look at the changelog  of these updates here and here.
