As we reported few hours back, Microsoft is now seeding the latest Windows 10 Mobile Build 10586.164 to its users, but compared to earlier release, this one’s available for both retail users and insiders.
Coming back to the insiders, the update is seeding to the users in slow and release preview only, leaving the fast ring members. To get this update, fast ring members need to get back on slow or preview rings since the fast ring members are on Redstone 2 channel and this is a Redstone channel 1 update.
Resembles the .122 build
For those wondering how this build is seeding to retail users instead of insiders first, as it’s essentially the same build as previous .122 version with only minor changes.
“The previously released 10586.122 build is nearly identical to this new .164 build. There are no major feature changes between the two builds. Changes were focused on a few key bug fixes and other required updates to ensure this build was ready to release to Retail users,” Microsoft explains.
“This is a fairly small release overall, but it’s important for Insiders to stay up-to-date.”
There hasn’t been any confirmation from Microsoft regarding the Windows 10 Mobile update to older 8.1 users, but judging by the pace of updates we can hope that the March deadline is on track and shall give users the much awaited Windows 10 Mobile experience.
In any case, it’s fairly a stable build and we believe everyone on the insiders ring be it fast, slow or release, update to this. Detailed changelog will be made available by Microsoft in some time.
