The much-awaited 4-inch iPhone, the iPhone 5SE, is said to be launching later this month. Initially, the phone was rumored to be a successor of the iPhone 5c (which failed utterly). However, reports have told us already that the next 4-incher will be an improvement over the iPhone 5s that came out in 2013. But hold on, some new rumors say that the device will actually be named officially as the iPhone SE, where the SE stands for ‘Special Edition’.

We are expecting the iPhone SE to keep the 4-inch display from the 5s but come with some new features, including the curved glass edges seen in the iPhone 6 and 6s. It might also come with NFC to support Apple Pay, coupled with a Touch ID fingerprint scanner. The device is rumored to get a 12MP/5MP camera combo and a more powerful processor over the 5s. The iPhone SE will most likely come in 16GB and 64GB variants.iphone se, iphone 5se

Tomas Moyano, artist for MacRumors, has produced some mock-up renders of how the iPhone SE might look like if the plastic antennas do not extend up to the back of the phone. The renders also show circular volume buttons and the oval camera flash, just like the 5s. The color scheme sticks to Silver, Space Grey, Gold, and Rose Gold. These new renders seem to bear a significant amount of similarity to a YouTube video uploaded by M.I.C Gadget.

Meanwhile, tipster OnLeaks has already leaked that the power button will be on top of the phone alike the 5s. Artist Martin Hajek has made a compilation of various iPhone SE renders, and the curves in the design look similar to the iPhone 6 and 6s.

Well-known KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has said that the iPhone SE might be priced between $400 – $500 in the US, so that translates to a price between £300 and £400 for the UK.
