Sony had launched three of its flagship smartphones including Sony Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact and Z5 Premium last year. All of these three variants had something different to offer to the Sony fans. But the Z5-series users have been waiting for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for some time now. But the wait is finally over for NTT DoCoMo users in Japan, at least. Other parts of the world are also expected to get the latest update in this month.
NTT DoCoMo has started rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Sony Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact and Z5 Premium. The latest update brings many improvements and a lot of bug fixes. Many new features have been introduced with the update like the ‘call history filter’ on the screen, all new Xperia Home Launcher and security patches for the fingerprint sensor. The camera UI has also been improved. Users can switch between the photos and videos much faster now. Screen visibility while running various applications has also been improved.
We already know that there won’t be any Xperia Z6 now since the unveiling of the X-series at the MWC which took most of us by surprise. But this doesn’t change anything except for the name and Sony has done rebranding in the past too like it launched Xperia Z3+ as Z4 in Japan. The new Sony flagships Sony Xperia X, X Performance and XA will soon go on sale and we can’t wait to lay our hands on these.
