Super Mario Maker will soon support the Wolf Link amiibo! By scanning it in, you can access both the costume and the Event Course for your game.
As you can see from the sprite above, the costume features Wolf Link and Midna riding him. The Wolf Link amiibo is originally intended for Twilight Princess HD, and we previously dissected how the amiibo is used in that game (long story short, it unlocks a special dungeon for Wolf Link, which is great, considering challenges for Wolf Link dropped severely in the original version of the game).
You can add Wolf Link to your costume repertoire in Super Mario Maker starting March 10th. We’ve previously reported on the original Pokémon Red and Blue starters being added to Super Mario Maker via their own event course. As with the Pokémon course, the Wolf Link course and costume also come with their original sound effects, from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
