Mortal Kombat X has a new update patch, version 1.12 and it’s out right now. Unfortunately, it’s a fairly big download, so depending on your internet connection, it might take a while. Until then, feel free to read up on the details we have below.

Path 1.12 is expected to be about 7 to 10 GB in size, and while some of the content included with the update isn’t playable just yet, it should be unlocked later. There is no proper changelog just yet, but here’s what we know is going to be included: “New Netcode, XL Characters(Not yet playable), The Pit Stage and several Character Buffs/Changes”.

According to Reddit user Baraka_Obama (yes), the preloaded DLC will be made available upon unlock time in the user’s region. He also adds that “The Pit, stage fatalities, balance changes, new netcode, new trophies/achievements, and Medieval Pack are all ready to go.”

The improved net code should be a welcome change to the game, considering a lot of players faced horrendous lag during online matchmaking. The game’s online multiplayer was also region locked, which meant that if you imported a copy, you’d have to play at horrible pings. Let’s hope the region locking has been removed in this update.

Mortal Kombat X is available on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
