The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (N910F) might be or might not be getting the Android Marshmallow update officially, but there is a way you can enjoy the Marshmallow flavour on your phone right away. Custom ROMs have been popular among Android users since years, and if you own a Galaxy Note 4, you can very well use a Marshmallow custom ROM to get the latest look and some new features on your officially unsupported device.

AOKP Marshmallow custom ROM for the Galaxy Note 4 (N910F) has been released and can be installed on the device with some simple effort. However, it is in the testing phase, so remember that it might cause your device to misbehave.

Here are some points to remember if you want to install AOKP custom Marshmallow update on the Galaxy Note 4 (N910F)-

  1. This ROM is only meant for the N910F variant of the Note 4.
  2. Make sure that you have installed all the latest USB drivers for the phone on your computer.
  3. Install TWRP or CWM tool on the device.
  4. Do not forget to back up your data.
  5. We won’t be responsible for anything that happens to your phone while or after installing this ROM.

How to Download and Install AOKP Custom Marshmallow ROM on Galaxy Note 4 (N910F):

  1. Go to this link and download the AOKP Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow ROM for Galaxy Nite 4.
  2. Then download Google Apps from here.
  3. Now plug-in your phone to your computer via USB and copy all those downloaded files to your phone.
  4. Now press and hold down the Power, Home, and Volume Up button so that your phone reboots in the Recovery Mode.
  5. Take a Nandroid backup of the current ROM by going to Backup and Restore > Backup.
  6. Now return to the main recovery menu, tap on “Wipe data/factory reset” and select “Yes”.
  7. Now return to the main meny and go to Wipe Cache Partition > Wipe Dalvik Cache.
  8. Now tap on Select Install zip from sdcard > Choose a zip from SD card. Select the ROM file that you downloaded in the first step, and confirm the action by tapping “Yes”.
  9. Now install Google Apps, and then tap on “Reboot system” from the main recovery menu.

After the phone reboots, you will find that the device is running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
