US-based smartphone manufacturer BLU has already launched many of its devices in India, but it is yet to make a strong presence in the Indian smartphone market due to the stiff competition. BLU recently announced its latest budget smartphone BLU Life Mark for the Indian market. The BLU Life Mark will be exclusively sold on Amazon India at a price of Rs. 9,000. The device isn’t available yet but it is expected to hit the shelves soon.
The Life Mark has a 720p 5-inch display featuring the BLUE Infinite View Technology. The device is powered by a 64-bit quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor clocked at 1.3 GHz coupled with 2GB of RAM. It has an internal memory of 16GB which can be further expanded up to 64 GB with a microSD card.
However, the highlight of this device is its fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint sensor is placed at the rear of the phone just below the camera. But, we have already seen devices featuring fingerprint sensor at even lesser costs. So this isn’t something new.
The device runs on Android OS 5.1 Lollipop and has 4G LTE connectivity. Other connectivity options like Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with A-GPS are also present.
The BLU Life Mark has a 13MP rear shooter with LED Flash and autofocus and a secondary 5MP for selfies and video chat. It packs a 2,300mAh battery which seems a bit low considering the current competition.
The company has a lot of hopes pinned on this device and they’re wishing that this device would turn their fate in India, but this doesn’t seem probable. Except for the fingerprint sensor, the company isn’t offering anything noteworthy and considering the competition from several other brands which have already established their stronghold in the Indian market, the company would really have to think out-of-the-box to turn things around.
