The GTA 6 rumour mill has sure been getting crazy lately, and we’re back with another round of rather far-fetched rumours regarding the future of everyone’s favourite car-jacking, heist-doing, pedestrian-killing series. This time around, we suspect GTA 6 might have a bigger map, a female lead character and more.

This time around, CrossMap is reporting rumours that GTA 6 will come out in 2018. Assuming the game has been in some form of development after the release of GTA V in 2013, this would make for a neat five years of development time.

A harder rumour to believe is that apparently Ryan Gosling (yes, that Ryan Gosling) is somehow involved in the game, and that a lead female character in the game will be his wife, Eva Mendes. While a female protagonist did not make the cut for GTA V, a quote by Dan House suggests that Rockstar might consider a female lead for future games: “In the future, could we do a game with a lead female character? Of course, we just haven’t found the right game for it yet, but it’s one of the things we always think about.”

The most unsubstantiated of all of the rumours so far is when Sophia Smith at CrossMap suggests that Reddit user VermillionDemonFox is a leaker who has claimed that his high-resolution map that patches together previous GTA maps, is in fact the map for GTA 6. Smith provides no reference for her claim whatsoever, and scanning through the user’s post history reveals no references to GTA 6, leading us to believe Smith is likely making things up, or plain out lying.

What do you think about these GTA 6 rumours? Is there a shred of truth to them? Where would you like GTA 6 to be set, and what would you like to see in it? Let us know in the comments below.
