The smartphone industry is evolving very quickly and the new flagships take no time to get old. All the new biggies at one time become outdated and are left in one corner of the market. In case of Samsung, the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are the latest flagships of the company, but they are soon going to be replaced by the Galaxy S7 series. But where does the Galaxy S2 (Galaxy SII) stand in all this humdrum?
Well, if you own the old Galaxy S2 and are thinking that it won’t get the latest Android Marshmallow update, you are wrong. The classic device sporting 1GB of RAM and dual-core processor is still capable of running the latest Marshmallow firmware, thanks to latest CyanogenMod 13.
Thanks to the CM13 Marshmallow mod for the Galaxy S II (i9100), you can now taste the Marshmallow flavour. Of course, it won’t be as smooth as an official update, as such mods can be hit-and-miss with such an old device.
However, if you want to enjoy Android 6.0 Marshmallow on your Galaxy S2 device, you can try the CM13-based Marshmallow custom mods. You can download the Samsung Galaxy S2 Marshmallow CM13 mod from here.
