It is still not certain when GTA 6 will drop but all fingers point to the possibility that it will be done on PlayStation 5. It is exactly 2 years and 4 months since GTA 5 hit the public on September 17 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and was later made available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 18 November 2014 and the PC got a share on 14 April 2015.
GTA will continue to be a hit if you ask me especially when the lead characters are voiced by Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling. It is sad to note that after 20 years of partnership with Rockstar, Leslie Benzies bowed out unceremoniously. Before his departure, he was the president of Rockstar North and producer of GTA games. This leaves a question of what happens to GTA? The delays with DLC story mode and GTA 6 may not after all be unconnected with his departure.
When the first installment dropped in 1997, it stole the heart of gamers because it gave them the freedom to ‘steal’ and own the kind of luxury that eluded them in real life. Ever since, fans have grown and scrambled to pick up any other GTA series from Rockstar. Some fans had to upgrade their console to be up to date with the franchise and some are already looking forward to 2018 and 2020 when PlayStation 5 and Xbox Two are rumoured to be released.
First rumours that filtered in said GTA 6 would be released in 2018 but since there is no word yet from Sony on the fate of PlayStation 5, the tech team deferred the proposed date. When it finally drops, GTA 6 is expected to come with exciting features which includes new and hybrid cars, luxurious apartments, scintillating weather and possibly new characters (to be voiced by Ryan Gosling and Rva Mendes). All these seems to be hinged on and will ultimately become the decision of whoever succeeds Leslie Benzies.
Leslie was a part of other great creations such as Manhunt and Red Dead Redemption.
