If you are an avid follower of smartphone news, you probably already know that Huawei is going to launch the Honor 5X and Huawei Mate 8 in the US next year. Well, a new development in that matter has come to light that proves the authenticity of the news.
Confirming the US launch of Huawei, the Huawei Mate 8 has been spotted at the FCC. The phone carries a model number NXT-L09, and the certification papers also included Wi-Fi test results that were carried out at 5G speeds. No photographs of the phone have been included in the documents though.
For those who don’t know, the Huawei Mate 8 is the flagship phone of the company and is also the first device to run the latest Kirin 950 SoC. Launched earlier this month, the phablet carries a 6-inch Full HD IPS display and gets a 2.3GHz octa-core CPU under the hood. The rear camera is a 16MP Sony IMX298 sensor with PDAF, OIS, and f/2.0 aperture. There’s an 8MP camera at the front, and a 4000mAh battery keeps the phone alive.
The 3GB/32GB variant is priced for around $580, while the 4GB/64GB version costs around $590. The most expensive Champagne Edition with 4GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage costs a whopping $1075 USD. And yes, there’s a microSD slot too. Well, Americans will surely love this beast!
