Shenzen based smartphone manufacturer Gionee is famous for its sleek and stylish smartphones. The company recently unveiled the Marathon M5 and has now announced its next budget smartphone, the Gionee P5W.
Specs-wise, the P5W will feature a 5.0-inch 720p IPS OnCell display. It comes with a MediaTek MT6735 chipset with an octa-core 64-bit processor clocked at 1.5 GHz which should be pretty good for a budget smartphone. It packs 1GB of RAM along with 16GB inbuilt storage to get you through lots of apps and music.
The Gionee P5W will have a 5MP rear camera along with a 2MP front shooter. It will be fueled by a 2000mAh battery.
Gionee P5W poses a colourful design with glossy polycarbonate body. The device is available in five colours, to list black, white, yellow, blue, and pink. The handset comes with Android v5.1 pre-installed without any upgrade confirmation for the latest Android v6.0.
As per Zauba the P5W was imported to India at a Rs. 6,352 last month although there is no official confirmation for the price. Possibilities are high for launch of the device this month. Looking at the tight competition, the smartphone industry is currently witnessing, from the price versus specifications point it seems very difficult for the Gionee P5W to withstand other cheaper and more reliable options available in the Indian markets.
