QiKU, a joint venture between the Chinese Internet firm Qihoo and Coolpad has released its first ever device Q Terra in the Indian markets. After Coolpad, Xiaomi and many other Chinese smartphone makers stepping into India markets, QiKU is one of the latest comers.
Speaking about the pretty looking handset, the most amazing thing about Q Terra is its 13MP DUAL camera lens on the rear side with dual tone LED flash along with 0.1 second Fast Focus feature. Explaining the theory of dual camera sensors, QiKU explained that one sensor (Sony IMX278) clicks colored images while the other one (Sony IMX217 Mono) clicks black and white pics. When combined, the resultant image provides better color accuracy. It also features an 8MP front shooter. Both the cameras have fullHD video recording capability.
Being exceptional on the camera side, the Q Terra offers high-end specifications. With a large 6-inch FullHD sharp IPS display with a resolution of 1080X1920, the device has 2GHz hexa-core Snapdragon MSM8992 808 SoC with Adreno 418 GPU. It packs 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot. On the connectivity side, the QTerra has support for dual SIM, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, NFC etc. It is fueled by a hefty 3,700mAh Fast Charge enabled battery.
Qihoo has designed an Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based OS with added security features specially for the QTerra. The OS is called Qihoo 360 OS. Options for removing any pre-installed apps is also given to the users.
On the build side, the Q Terra has an elegant looking metallic body with curved edges. It measures 157.60 x 79.80 x 8.60 mm.
Priced in at 19,999 INR on invite and 21,999 without an invite, the QiKU Q Terra will be a good buy for mid-ranged customers. The handset will be exclusively available on Gadgets360 starting next month.
