A lot of smartphone companies that had limited their smartphones to online stores have started going offline too. Only recently, Motorola, Xiaomi, and LG have partnered with Reliance Retail to sell their phones offline. And according to Gadgets360, the latest company to join this trend is Yu Televentures by Micromax.

The Yu brand is a subsidiary of the Micromax, and until now, was an online-only brand. However, the Yu smartphones including Yunique, Yureka Plus, and Yuphoria will now be available at 30,000 retail outlets in India. Rahul Sharma, the founder of Yu Televentures, spoke about this new plan and said, “Yu Televentures has inked a strategic partnership with Reliance Retail with an aim to bring the devices to the customer to have a touch and feel of the models. It is an exclusive retail sales and distribution partnership to enhance the availability of popular voice over LTE (VoLTE) mobile devices across India.”

Even though the online e-commerce websites in India offer great retailing services when it comes to smartphones, nothing beats the actual buying experience that a customer gets while trying out the phone physically in his hands before buying. As mentioned earlier, Motorola and Xiaomi, who had entered the Indian smartphone market through the internet, recently ended the Flipkart exclusivity pact and expanded to offline retail and other e-commerce sites.
