There has been mostly radio silence regarding the Meizu Pro 5 Mini, as most of the attention was directed towards the elder Meizu Pro 5. But after it made its appearance on an European seller’s website, its full specs and price had us convinced that it’s not half as bad as the Pro 5.

According to the listing, the phone wears a 4.7″ AMOLED display with a 1080p resolution in a metallic carcass. It is fueled by a MediaTek Helio X20 chipset, while the Pro 5 comes with the Exynos 7420. That’s a mix of 10 cores, including 2 of the latest Cortex-A72. The Pro 5 Mini runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. And here you get to choose: 3GB RAM on the 32GB model and 4GB for the 64GB one; storage is expandable via microSD.

Meizu Pro 5 MiniIt has undergone some modifications camera-wise; it has a 16MP main camera, instead of the 21MP sensor. The selfie-dedicated one was kept at 5MP though. Another addition to the Mini is the dual-SIM, but it may lack NFC. We already talked about a possible price, but we’ll see how that one turns out.

It kind of came as a surprise that the battery remained unchanged (3,050 mAh), though we won’t speculate before we get an official report or confirmation, at the very least. And guess what, the fingerprint sensor is present as well.

Most people say that the Meizu Pro 5 Mini specs are kind of sugar-coated, but even if they are (we suspect there will be some changes regarding the battery and chipset), the truth can’t be too far from what we’ve covered above. Anyhow, this phone brought a whole new kind of mini to the premium mini market.
