A new Huawei phone has been launched in the UK today by Carphone Warehouse. And if you are thinking of a high-end, premium-looking flagship, then you are mistaken. The Huawei Y3 has entered the country, and it is claimed to be the cheapest smartphone in the UK! Well, it of course is a low-end, beginner’s smartphone, and is already on sale.

The main highlight about the Huawei Y3 is its price, which has been set to £59.99 only! You can also go for a contract purchase, which will give you the Y3 for free at just £5 per month. For that amount, telecom operator iD gives you 5,000 texts, 250MB of 3G data, and 150 minutes every month for two years. You can also pay £44.99 in order to get 10GB of 3G data, unlimited texts, and unlimited minutes from EE. You can pre-order the Y3 now and it will reach you by 6th November.

As for the specifications, the Huawei Y3 gets a 4-inch 480×800 display and is powered by a 1.2GHz Spreadtrum 7731 quad-core CPU. There’s 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal expandable memory. A 5MP rear shooter assisted with dual-LED flash should offer nice clicks, while there’s a 2MP selfie snapper at the front. There’s no 4G though, and the Y3 gets a small 1,730 mAh battery. The phone gets Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed with Emotion UI 3.0 Lite on top of it, and is available in white and black colors.
